Situation

Where the process was losing clarity.

Multiple storefronts depended on web traffic, application services, databases, caching and email, but those layers needed clearer operational boundaries.

Design response

The decisions that created a cleaner path.

Organized the environment around Ubuntu and Docker Compose, with Nginx routing, MariaDB, Redis, Cloudflare DNS/TLS and Mailcow assigned distinct roles.

Operating flow

One state moves deliberately into the next.

  1. Route

Send public traffic through Cloudflare and Nginx to the intended application service.

  2. Run

Keep application responsibilities separated inside the Docker Compose environment.

  3. Persist

Give database and cache services explicit, independent roles.

  4. Deliver

Keep transactional mail within its own managed service boundary.

Documented outcome

What the work proves—and what it does not claim.

The documented stack coordinated the hosting and mail responsibilities. Current uptime or SLA is not claimed.

Working framework

How the experience
works underneath.

Each layer has one responsibility. That separation keeps the interface easier to understand now and easier to move from Vercel to dedicated infrastructure later.

Keep application responsibilities separated inside the Docker Compose environment.

Persist

Give database and cache services explicit, independent roles.

Deliver
